Clarifying Myself to Gitea Users/Maintainers

Highlights

• My name is Jason Song, also nicknamed wolfogre. I’m a developer living in Shanghai.
• I have been employed by Gitea Ltd/CommitGo since 2022. Before that, I worked for various companies.
• Before joining, I was a user of Gitea but not a contributor. So, most of my contributions to Gitea reflect the company’s commitment to the Gitea project. However, a small number PRs are due to my own functional needs, like Support asciicast files as new markup.
• I am a TOC member of the Gitea project, but I’m appointed by the company, not elected by the community.
• Most of my views on PRs, issues, and votings are my own, and I will provide clear reasons. But if I approve or reject something without any explanation, it is likely because I am following the company’s directives.
• Sometimes I may leave the Gitea project for a while since my primary responsibility is helping the company develop its products, like Gitea Cloud.
• Aside from myself, there are several other individuals employed by the company, like … 😄 Sorry, not everyone is willing to reveal their identity.

• I excel at Go language and backend development, while frontend development is not my strong suit.
  • If you need help with Gitea’s backend when contributing a PR, I will be happy to help if you ask.
  • But if you have any questions about Gitea’s frontend, I may not be able to provide assistance.
  • I don’t provide any support about installation, configuration, or usage of Gitea, Git or other related tools. At least not for free.
• I’m not a native English speaker, Chinese is my mother tongue.
